Problem

Diversity matters at Amgen. We believe an environment of inclusion fosters innovation, which drives our ability to serve patients. To ensure our ongoing success, Amgen is committed to promoting and maintaining an inclusive, high-performing culture where all team members embrace and leverage each other's talents and backgrounds. Our commitment to diversity is articulated in our values and reflected in every part of the organization. Amgen has implemented a global strategy designed to leverage our diversity and create a more inclusive workplace. Our priorities are:

  • Increasing the percentage of women in manager and above roles
  • Increasing the percentage of women in senior vice president and above roles, which is also defined as our operating team
  • Increasing the percentage of African Americans in science titles
  • Increasing the percentage of African Americans and Hispanics in executive director and above roles

Amgen is seeking ways in which we can translate this strategy into specific, tactical actions that can be implemented at the Amgen RI (ARI) site. More specifically:

  • How do we incorporate more Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (“DIB”) into our culture and daily operations at ARI?
  • How do we maintain a positive engaged workforce and connect staff working both on-site and remotely?

Mission Statement

We achieve a sense of belonging in the workplace by highlighting differences in the work culture and implementing data into personalized networks designed to unite all staff working onsite and remotely.
